Our partners at UChicago Medicine are offering career pathways for Nursing Assistants through our Pivot to Success program, including: part-time employment as a Nurse Assistant in Training and no-cost education at Malcolm X College in support of Nursing Assistant credentials starting June 2022; and the opportunity for full-time employment upon completion of the Nursing Assistant state exam in August 2022.
Job Highlights
- Stage patient rooms according to unit routine and standards
- Support the non-clinical efforts of the floor staff
- Attend weekly one-hour mentoring and coaching meetings with Skills staff
- Attend 20 hours of Nursing Assistant education each week at Malcom X College (at no cost to you)
Candidate Profile
- Diploma or GED required
- Must live within the Chicago city limits
- Ideal candidates will have an interest in healthcare, little to no experience, and want to get in to a clinical role
- Must pass Nursing Assistant state exam in August 2022; full-time employment possible upon completion
