Ulta Beauty Gives Back to Their Community in a Multitude of Ways

We’re grateful to have Ulta Beauty as an Ambassador Sponsor at this year’s Annual Employment Champions Breakfast. Ulta Beauty has made a strong impact on the Chicagoland community through their philanthropic endeavors.

Founded in 1990, Ulta Beauty has been an innovator since day one. With a vision of being the most loved beauty destination for their guests, Ulta Beauty strives to use the power of beauty to bring to life the possibilities that lie within us. With nearly 1,400 stores nationwide, Ulta Beauty has created over 22,000 new jobs across the country for communities like its own Chicagoland community.

As the leading beauty retailer, Ulta takes their position seriously and hopes to lead not just in the world of beauty but also in the world of environmental, social and governance (ESG) causes. That’s why they started the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation in 2016. Ulta Beauty’s philanthropic efforts started in 2009 with a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Foundation has since set a goal of donating $50 million to BCRF by 2024, and by the end of 2022, The Foundation has contributed over $48 million, making this goal more than accessible.

Since then, the Foundation has broadened to include additional national and local partnerships. For the first time in 2022, UBCF donated $2M to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ focused non-profits. Since 2016, the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation has donated more than $45M to non-profits across the country to enhance the education and wellbeing of women and families. This includes one of their national partners, Dress for Success®.

Dress for Success®, aims to empower women by providing them with the professional attire, support, and tools necessary for them to thrive in work and in life. During Women’s History Month, Ulta Beauty sponsored programs that focused on educating and inspiring women, with 90% of participants reporting they were satisfied with this experience.

Among Ulta Beauty’s many philanthropic efforts is its partnership with Skills for Chicagoland’s Future. Since partnering in 2014, Ulta Beauty has placed 830 unemployed or underemployed job seekers into roles at its 12 Chicagoland stores. The main roles these candidates were placed into were the Beauty Advisor and Task Associate roles, and the vast majority of new employees were women and people of color. To date, Ulta Beauty has donated over $181,000 to Skills and this partnership continues to be fruitful for our job seekers.

We are very grateful to have Ulta Beauty as a sponsor at this year’s Employee Champion Breakfast and continue to be impressed by the work of the Ulta Beauty Charitable Foundation.
